Room to Read is headed by Country Director, who manages program heads and department leads. A ‘Country Management Team’ (CMT) oversees the development of policies, compliance as well as the business direction of the organization. During monthly meetings that are chaired on rotation, teams present their achievements and plans for management teams to comment on and support.

CMT convenes at least once a month to address all issues arising in-country or from the regional and/or global offices, and clarifies organization decisions to all staff while giving further direction regarding next courses of action or priority. The country team supports the global offices (geographically dispersed HQs) in raising funds by sharing data/reports, stories of success, and also representing the country program during virtual or in-person fundraising events and galas. When funding comes in from HQ, CMT consults colleagues located in program locations as well as the country vulnerability and/or education index to decide on where to assign the new/next investment. Five district-level offices (Jan 2024 update) function with close collaboration and guidance from the country office.
